Signature Rooms and Suites are ready to welcome guests

The signature rooms and suites are the latest addition to the Metropol collection.

During the anniversary year, they will be offers by the categories 'Executive', 'Grand Superior', 'Deluxe' and Deluxe Suite, as well as 'Premier Suite'.

The creation of these rooms was undertaken by the world-renowned design firm Denniston, whose portfolio includes projects for high-end hotel brands – Aman Hotels & Resorts, Four Seasons, Cheval Blanc.

The main specialization of Denniston is the architecture and design of hotel properties. The founder and chief architect is Jean-Michel Gathy. Established in 1983, Denniston has always been inspired by the genius of Gathy. He serves as the chief designer of the company and personally develops the concepts for all design bureau projects. In April 2006, Jean-Michel was inducted into the 'HD Platinum Circle' and awarded the title of Outstanding Industry Figure, whose career and accomplishments have significantly contributed to the development of the global hospitality industry.

Over more than 40 years, the architects and designers of the bureau have produced numerous well-known projects that have become true masterpieces of architecture and design: Aman Venice Canal Grande, Aman Hotel New York, Marina Bay Sands Singapore, One&Only Portonovi Montenegro, and others. The secret to the bureau's success lies in the creation of individualized project teams and, as mentioned above, the personal curation of projects by Jean-Michel Gathy.

While working on the creation of the new Signature Rooms, Jean-Michel Gathy made several trips to Moscow as part of the project delegation, meticulously studying not only the architecture of the Metropol Hotel but also its rich visual and historical codes.

The Signature Rooms are like books, whose visual narratives will tell guests about the continuity and respect for the historical heritage of the Metropol. Touch the handle of the wardrobe, and you will feel the symbol of the first letter of the grand hotel's name; lift your gaze to the high ceilings, and you will see the preserved technique of a tented ceiling (a reference to the shape of the historical dome of the restaurant), where the ceiling space is not merely composed of right angles, but instead forms arches at its base that support the main fabric. The smooth lines of the furniture sets and the patterns on the doors*, created according to the sketches of the Denniston design bureau, reflect the elegance of Art Nouveau, while the suspensions on the bedside sconces or the chandeliers with spheres in the living rooms, made of crystal, enhance the grandeur of the interiors.

The renovated rooms have become a reflection of the Metropol today: honoring its history, but at the same time modern, with a confident outlook on the future and ready to offer its guest all the best," – Marina Skokova, General Director of the hotel, comments on the long—awaited opening.

The foundation of the color palette for the Signature Rooms is inspired by the Art Nouveau style, revealed through a combination of vibrant and more subdued light shades. Prints on silk wallpaper panels create dynamism, while wooden panels fill the space with texture. The chosen design solution brings to the forefront the idea of a timeless interior, and the elegant lines and decorative details in the décor create an aesthetic of Art Nouveau. This reflects the character of the Metropol Hotel today: a classic of Russian hospitality with a rich historical heritage, a confident outlook on the future and fidelity to the principles of innovation and foresight, as they were 120 years ago.

All rooms feature thoughtful and functional zoning. In the basic categories—'Executive' and 'Grand Superior'—there are convenient areas for work and relaxation, a King Size bed, a 'Smart Home' control system, and essential household appliances from premium brands. The bathrooms deserve special attention, as their area has been significantly expanded (not less than 10 m2).

The finish is made of Italian marble, with heated floors and tropical showers, while the rooms in the 'Grand Superior' category and above are equipped with bathtubs. The spaces in the higher category rooms—'Deluxe' and 'Deluxe Suite'—are complemented by living rooms and walk-in closets.

The first newly opened rooms have views of the hotel's inner courtyards, allowing guests to escape the noise of the capital and enjoy some solitude. Among them are three unique rooms with their own patios, where during the warm season there is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy breakfast or simply indulge in reading a favorite book outdoors. Soon, the beloved view of Moscow will return for many guests of the Metropol, along with the chance to admire the vibrant life of the capital: the ruby stars of the Moscow Kremlin, the State Historical Museum, the Bolshoi Theatre, and Revolution Square.
